On October 24, 2014, Alan Eustace and the Paragon StratEx Team successfully completed a jump with droge assistance from the stratosphere at an altitude that exceeded 135,000 miles above the Earth.
The previous record, set in 2012 by Felix Baumgartner and the Red Bull Stratos Team, was from just short of 128,000 feet without droge.
Eustace is a pilot, skydiver, computer engineer, retired executive from Google, and now, high-altitude record-breaker at 57 years old.
Eustace jumped from a high-altitude helium balloon, traveling up to 1,600 feet per minute through more than 25 miles of stratosphere.
Eustace traveled at speeds up to 822 miles per hour, and created a small sonic boom that was audible on the ground. The jump lasted only 15 minutes.
Once again, those attending the Reunion of the Golden Knights have an opportunity to hear the details of an exciting piece of history made by an extraordinary team of scientists.
Join us on December 5, 2015 to learn about their vision and their victory.
A cash bar will offer reasonably priced mixed drinks and wine by the glass.
Except for the Hospitality Room, alcohol is available only by purchase.
The Hospitality Room will still offer selected brands of liquor free-of-charge.

For you out-of-towners, we are hoping that all of you will plan to stay at the Embassy Suites. They offer a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast, an evening reception with free drinks provided, indoor heated pool and whirlpool, and a fitness center.
Key sites are close by such as Cross Creek Mall (1 block away), Ft. Bragg (2 miles away), Patriot Movie Theater across the street and Airborne and Special Operations Museum (8 miles away).
The bottom line is that this is a great hotel (definitely steps above all other hotels in the area), has great amenities and is in a great location. You are going to love all of this!
The event will be held as follows:
Friday—Various activities will be going on to include golf, wind tunnel and parachuting to include tandem jumps. The Team area will be open for tours. There will be GK merchandise sales, Hospitality Room will be open, and, of course, there will be the Friday night social which will include hors d’oeuves, socializing and dancing.
Saturday—Again there will be various activities going on to include the wind tunnel and parachuting to include tandem jumps. The Team area will be open for tours. Also there will be GK merchandise sales, Hospitality Room will be open and, best of all, will be our banquet that evening.
Click here for the details about the schedule of events.
Since we are going to one of the best hotels in Fayetteville where the rooms, service and quality are excellent, and because the cost of items in general has gone up, we have had to raise our prices slightly. The dues will now be $35.00 and the banquet cost will be $75.00 per person.
See the Reservations tab for information about lodging. The key now is to reserve your room ASAP. The Embassy Suites has only 165 rooms. They will be on a first come, first serve basis. So please reserve now. The Embassy Suites is where “all the action” is going to be. We are hoping that you will all want to stay here! When calling to reserve a room or rooms be sure to say that you will be attending the Golden Knights Reunion to receive our special rate.
Registration for the Reunion must be completed separately from your room reservation. Click here to Register Now for the Reunion or print and return your registration form.
Please register right away. We want to make this Reunion of 2015 one of the best!
